Did they include all those pesky new CHD-based games that I saw floating around?

PS. Good idea Laughing

Yeah, I've heard that 6 new CHD-Files were released. I hope that most of the new games and clones are working, though I'm afraid it's similar to 0.75, with many nonworking games. Neutral

I doubt if it will. They had so few donations and soooo much bandwidth being used, I doubt if there's a host willing to take it on. It's a shame the information/screenshots couldn't stay online.

I'm content with v.56, the Neo Geo rom, and Metal Slug X, thanks very much.

Still can't get my bastard joypad working. I've done the whole
-createconfig / mame.ini / joystick 1
thing, but no joy. It works fine with any number of generic
gamepad drivers; I've tested them all with CCS64. And it's
worked with MAME in the past. Anyone know what the problem
could be?

releases are too frequent, i dunno why they dont do one release every 6 months.. people might actually get a chance to play the games then and talk about them...?

Doing a release every 1/2 year would mean to download about 200 - 500 roms at once with about 7 Harddisc-files. I wouldn't like it. It's o.k. for me to do an update every 3 or 4 weeks.

and i know people complained about waiting so they dropped the lead time - but this is crazy. i've been getting stuff since .36 and had to run round like mad getting .73 up to scratch, i think i'm gonna duck out of mame for a few years, i'm finding this eternal collect collect mentality a bit anal now

Yeah, you're right, it's crazy. There are many people (including me) spending more time with updating MAME than really playing the games. And most of the games I play are classics, already emulated and full-working. But it's addiction for me.

Great! You get 0 FPS with "carnevil"? I only get 0.75 with my 1.9 GHZ P4.

But it's really blasphemy. We're collecting games and roms and most of them doesn't run proper. It's more comfortable with C64-games, innit?

Yeah, gamebase is sacred compared to this Smile

Mace: The Dark Age is the only one playable. It runs at 3 to 4 fps, but at least I get in the game after 5 minutes of waiting for it to load..

Ah, it'll all improve with time.. if not from optimizations, it'll be from the 50 Thz CPU we'll have in a few years Wink

Depending on if you have a newsserver and if it's a good one, alt.binaries.emulators.misc alt.binaries.emulators.mame are good places to start.

There was a complete 0.77 romflood last week.

I have been thinking about a new cool and dashing slogan for MAME gamers.

Here: "Have you been MAMEd ????"

Tell me how you like this one!!!

Use Google and look for a site called RetroRoms. They are the ones with all the rom downloads now. I'd better not give a link.

Oof. I don't know if I want to bother downloading any CHDs. Anybody here recommend any of them (not just new ones)?

Yup, I'm on the way to update the collection. But this time we have about 13 new or modified CHD's, keeping us busy with....I still have 8 uncomplete games... Sad

And thanks to RetroRoms I've now completed the ROM collection up to 78, save for the CHD files. I'll get them gradually/eventually though, no rush...I'm fairly certain many of them don't work properly anyway.
