with the latest version?? i thought that bug had been removed, it works ok for me, then again it may be the refresh rate you've got running there i always leave it set to auto |

The EXE file in that ZIP file is about 3 weeks old. Please download the up-to-date EXE from ComputerBrains instead:
http://www.computerbrains.com/ccs64/CCS.EXE
Hakan is currently looking into the SID emulation, but hasn't made any changes to it yet (I hope he can improve it). _________________ Regards,

It depends upon your hardware... I use 800x600. 8-bit colour is fastest. _________________ Regards,

yeah, sorry 'bout that, but I only update emulators when a general update occurs, and I'm afraid it won't happen anytime soon... ;( _________________

Dohi -
It's OK. Hakan is busy making minor bug-fixes and stuff constantly (along with the odd enhancement), so any versions hosted outside of ComputerBrains elsewhere are bound to get out-of-date quickly. It's probably just best to link to it, instead of hosting another copy of it.
Hakan is looking into the SID emulation at the moment, but hasn't made any changes yet. I hope he can improve it... _________________ Regards,

I've just given 3.0 a try. I'm pleasantly surprised to find a resizable window. For a long time, my main peeve with emulators is that the aspect ratio was plain wrong, so that the view was much wider than it should be. With a resizable window, I can adjust the aspect ratio manually with ease.
One thing that is currently not as good as 2.0 though is the simulation of the scanlines. I don't like the blocky appearence when there are no simulated scanlines, so I like to adjust the settings to get simulated scanlines (ideally, there would be visible space around each pixel like on a C64 monitor, but scanlines have had to do). However, the window view currently has no option, and the full screen views have a harsher look with scanlines than 2.0. I find it hard on the eyes when 2.0 was easy on the eyes. The blank lines are thicker looking in 3.0.
Anyway, I'm glad that people take the time to work on the emulator at all. |
