I think it's my best since i've completed the race without any car accident. I don't know how i could do something bettere here.

The challenge continues:

129,770

And I even crashed twice Shocked

http://spazioinwind.libero.it/cabi/bgbyboc.gif

EDIT At last I figured out how to post images! (It will be a big relief for you, Matt Wink Thank you so much for your patience so far)
Just COPY and PASTE the link in your browser and it should (hopefully) work.

@Roberto: catch more bonuses!
My rules to get a highscore are: 1) Never jump on logs as you lose control of the buggy for too long; 2) Catch the last right flag just before zones you know that contain many flags, so that you can finish the flags series twice or three times in a row; 3) Keep in mind that banners are worth 100, 250 or even 500 points each, while flags only 30; 4) Always get the three extra time banners each leg; 5) Take a lot of risks! 6) Try not to crash (would you have guessed that? Silly )

I'm giving away those tactics following the honourable example of Studly in Rodland (I just hope that I don't end up in 5th or 6th position because of that!). Not that these hints aren't obvious, mind you...

EDIT Last obvious hint: always go at top speed (push the pedal to the metal!).

Eh eh thanks for the suggestion, never considered the chance to avoid obstacles Smile

Seriously:
At first, my congrats for you score... really impressive (insomma, pensaci te a tenere in alto i colori dell'Italia Wink )

1) i already follow this rule, i really hate all oil puddle! (somewhere i've read that jumping-oil will improve your fast, but this is definitively not true)
2) good one, i have to study it...
3) Right...
4) Here is the point i must improve, i miss some extra time bonuses especially in the last course.
5) Risk is my job Razz

thanks for the hints Smile

I've managed to break the 100k mark! Still it's not a very high score (101,000 something...) so I'm going to try and improve it before posting a new screenshot.

Heh, after all, I'm enjoying the game... Wink

For me the biggest problem is that I know the places where I can improve my score, but that I then abort 15 or so games at that spot because I fail each time..

My last post wasn't intended to be an official score submission but thanks anyway! I been practicing on West and I'm nearing the 100k barrier. I just need to finish that 5th lap and I'll have it, but I can't seem to make it. Here's my current high score:

They give a larger bonus, according to the docs.. I'd say about 1500 to 2000 points. Maybe someone knows the exact amount of points?

Hey Muttley,
nice to see you here! I didn't know you were a Lemon member (and you also joined before me!).

Cheers mate! Smile

I only have the time to lurk here most of the time unfortunately. Sad

The Llamasoft Lleague is great, and also the scores site... pity you are not c64 only devotees like we are Wink (and this prevents me from participating, together with the lack of time).

But we are tougher harder cooler and fluffier (well perhaps not this) than you Twisted Evil Laughing

See you on the Scorelord's page Wink

EDIT or join this challenge... if you dare Very Happy

Thanks for the kind comments. Smile

The Lleague is more pure retro-gaming than platform specific (although it started as MAME only). The more c64 games the better though, in fact we've just finished playing Uridium+.

I shall attempt to get a Buggy Boy score in before the end of play (if I haven't missed it already). Never played this on my c64.

My score for the day: 120,000. Well almost. 119,970 and I still feel that I can improve.

I don't think I can do any better than this:

130,300 (West)

http://spazioinwind.libero.it/cabi/bgbyboc2.gif

COPY and PASTE the link if you wanna see the screen grab.

@Muttley

You're welcome! The newly designed llamascores is even better than before.

I know about Uridium+ as I sometimes have a look at what's going on over there. In fact I now have grown the desire to play that and Iridis Alpha! Cool (Not that I can even approach Sickboy's scores. Or MayhemUK for that matter Wink ). Sooner or later we'll have these games here I hope...

I'm not registered over there, though, as this forum and c64 league sucks all my "computer" time...

Shame on you for not playing Buggy Boy before (ask Gordon something about it Wink ). Damned fine conversion! Weren't you a Zzap!64 reader at the time?
Mind you, I should shut up as I missed nearly all the games pre-1987 and after-1990... until now Very Happy Cool

See you!

PS And...ahem...(shameless ad) feel free to put your c64 top 10 games in the sticky topic about the Lemon Forum top list... you could also tell moobaa and other c64ers if they want to contribute...

there's this feature at the llamasoft forum to post pictures much more easier than here. I'm sure the webmaster could change that easily!

95070, although its not anyway near the best I might just get in at one of the lowest positions...

Wonder why my screen grabs gets all weird in the colors though...
