Only one improvement, but it's the final score in this event.

Javelin: 101.25m
Equestrian: 73

@grande316: I should watch equestrian(and some kayaking), as well. Looks like it worked quite well for you. Smile

Haha, yeah sort of inspired me. Smile

Next week is rowing, no kayaking yet.

Finally got around to playing this. Not very impressive first scores, but I'm quite proud of them, considering i've only played this properly for 3 days. I also find it quite amusing that I was suggesting we drop cycling, considering how well I've done on it. (top tip: use an xbox controller)

Triple Jump: 17.10 m
Rowing: 0:27.5
Javelin: 94.81
Equestrian: 71
High Jump: 2.20m
Cycling: 0:30.7
Kayaking: 1.47

I told you guys before that it is easier to play with a modern controller. When we had SG2 competition in the german forum64 a couple of years ago the winner in cycling was using playstation 2 controller Smile

Triple Jump 17.55
Rowing 26:1
Javelin 98.06
Equestrian 0
High Jump 2.45
Cycling 47:1
Kayaking 1:33

My score on Cycling doesn't show in this picture but in one of my previous posts, as I achieved that on a different computer.

I'm not even trying Cycling anymore, on keyboard is even more frustrating and awful than I remember it being with a joystick.

I put some time in and got some scores. So without further ado - some scores. Confused

Triple Jump: 14.50
Rowing: 0:27.4
Javeline: 62.93
Equestrian: 59
High Jump: 1.50 (I got lucky once.)
Fencing: N/A
Cycling: 2:03.5
Kayaking: 3:09

I may improve some scores or I may not. I will be deleting this turkey after the compo though. This was an olympic game too far.

Triple Jump 17.55
Rowing 26:1
Javelin 98.06
Equestrian 0
High Jump 2.50
Cycling 44:4
Kayaking 1:24

Is anyone getting any good results at Cycling on keyboard?

I can't seem to learn how to reach 100m on Javelin.

Honestly I don't like Summer Games 2. Some events are mediocre gameplaywise, and others are frustrating as hell. None has been truly enjoyable for me.

Slight improvements on rowing, kayaking and triple jump. No matter how much I try, I can't reach that 17.55.. damn it!

Triple Jump: 17.45m
Rowing: 0:26.2
Javelin: 101.31
Equestrian: 0
High Jump: 2.50m

I had to give it another go. The cycling score shows 0:34.2 in this screenshot but I did 0:34.0, see the previous post.

Triple Jump: 17.55m
Rowing: 0:26.1
Javelin: 101.31m
Equestrian: 0
High Jump: 2.50m
Fencing: -
Cycling: 0:34.0
Kayaking: 1:21

I can't get my horse to jump over that damn ditch. Anyway, it's an improvement.

scores:
Triple Jump: 17.55m
Rowing: 0:26.9
Javelin: 101.31m
Equestrian: 20
High Jump: 2.50m
Fencing:-
Cycling: 0:33.2
Kayaking: 1:44

@JazBear: OK, perhaps the Xbox controller is good for cycling, but it's a nightmare for kayaking. Maybe I should give it a try with my arcade stick.

Didn't like it to begin with, but as I got better at it the game became more fun.

Still there are better sports games on the C64 though.

Maybe it's not the best single player sports game, but it's still great with some mates.

I learned that the hard way. The Kayaking event is awful as it is, my least favourite event. Apart from that, it's a solid game. Even though it's not a patch on Winter Games (my personal fave), World Games and California games, I think it was the first multi event sports game on C64 not to involve waggling. I could be wrong though.

It's also a shame that this overshadowed Hyper Sports (released around the same time) as I think Hyper Sports is the superior game.

No, we're just really busy! I'm doing long days at work, and getting home late. Plus you guys would vote for a game which is a bit of a mare to calculate for Razz

Guys, I've updated the leaderboard from round 7. You can see it here.

As for the round, here are the results of a pretty hotly contested competition:
Code:
Pts   Score   Player
=======================
100   340   Vertigo
 88   300   TommyE
 74   250   Prkl
 72   246   JazBear
 71   243   SLF
 63   214   akabei
 61   206   Super Ninja!
 46   158   Troy
 37   125   spider-j
 27    91   merman
 22    76   grande316
 12    42   Apollyon
 12    42   Nori
 12    41   Predator
 10    35   jt-3d
  9    30   Parapala
  7    25   Macc

Congrats to Vertigo who managed almost a perfect score with firsts in every event bar one. TommyE was pretty impressive too with a big gap over his chasing rivals. Prkl pips both JazBear and SLF for the bronze medal.

Vertigo's result moves him up to 2nd in the leaderboard and there's been some in-roads made be a few people on Troy's lead at the top. It all get's very interesting from here!
