Can someone please tell me asap if customers of Cartridge, Disk, Tapeversion also get the digital Download as an extra bonus (including all versions as images [like download only])?

I'd like to add this information to my review for the next issue of the german RETURN magazine.

If Endurion or smila are reading this: it would be even cooler, if there exists some kind of table/list of all different versions and what they contain etc. and if one of you could send me one; so we could publish that table as an overview.
You can PM me (or Endurion should be able to send a Mail via Forum64).

atm I'm having a hard time writing my article and trying to explain what versions there are... Wink

I believe you get a digital download version when you order.

There are lots off different packages available so just take a look at the psytronik -

http://www.binaryzone.org/retr...d=soulless

and rgcd websites -

http://www.rgcd.co.uk/p/shop.html

They explain what each version comes with.

Thanks smila for the info about additional download content for customers of physikal media. Smile

I knew these sites already. So I guess I have to do those tables concerning bonus stuff etc. on my own. I was hoping that you had probably some kind of better overview, to avoid making mistakes Cool

Another question:
Is instruction manual and comic book the same?!?
RGCD states that you get printed instructions also with cartridge-only release, but instructions are not mentioned on Psytronik site.

The email with the order reply should have the link to the digital download.

@spider-j
comic book = companion cd booklet, which also has some basic instructions.
The disk, cassette and cart images are on the companion cd.
All three versions come with exactly the same material, except for some small stickers that RGCD includes in their cart releases.

okay, i understand. Thank you.

I'm not absolutely sure about the RGCD cartridge-only release still.
As this does not include the companion CD: does it include TAP/D64 digital download or just CRT images?

The zip file that James emails to buyers of the cart has only the cart image and three jpg files which are the instructions, the map and the soul stone sheet.

Uh, the cartridge version includes the companion CD.

OK - I have both cartridge from RGCD and disk (premium) from Binary Zone (EDIT: updated);

Cartridge (as seen above):
-the cartridge
-cardboard box for the cartridge
-companion CD (comic inlay)
-map/poster
-printed stone sheets
-stickers
-digital downloads (game in .crt format only, stone sheet pdf, map jpg, instructions.txt)

Disk:
-game on floppy + sleeve
-plastic 5.25" case with inlays
-companion CD (comic inlay)
-map/poster
-digital downloads (game in .tap .d64 and .crt format + instructions.txt)

I hope this helps.

Which CRT ID does it (ab)use? Does the actual cartridge match an earlier (already emulated) design?

No I was asking about the "cartridge-only" version [for 25 pounds], not the standard version [28 pounds].

Thanks for the detailed info.
So are the "instructions" only digital (on CD/download) or are they also printed on cartridge box / disk-case inlay? ( I mean the text in instructions.txt file from the download)

Sorry, there was some mis-information in my previous post - I've updated the digital downloads contents now.

The contents of instructions.txt are printed on floppy case inlay and on the companion CD inlay.

Ah, didn't notice there was such a version. Who would want that? ;)

I don't know. It's 64k cartridge, and it runs in VICE at least. Cannot be written to EF (EasyProg doesn't accept it).

It's using the MagicDesk type cartridge ID. $00 to $07 into $DE00 to switch banks, $08 or $80 (not sure which currently) to turn off.

The same 64k hucky board was used for souless (with as Siem did for our cart creation : Giana sisters, license to kill, IK+, etc ...

Don't know if our conversions have helped using this great 64k pcb but happy to see new games on them Smile

Hi there - I mail out a copy of the game when confirming postal addresses, but it may have been caught in your spam filter because Windows doesn't like CRT files (thinks they are security certificates).

Drop me a mail! I'll ensure you get the digital version, although RGCD are only distributing the CRT file.

Note that all digital versions are on the CD.

The cartridge only version is really just for the few people who already have the psytronik disk or tape and the extras, and just want the cartridge to complete the collection.

A bit late here, but I bought the digital download a while back.. I love eveything about it. To the producers my hat goes off to you, a fantastic effort and I look forward to a sequal. It would have done really well back in the late 80's/early 90's and scored well in the magazines. I will get the premium edition one of these days!

And Soulless scores a well-deserved 94% in the latest issue of Retro Gamer.

I just bought the digital download bundle.

Makes me seem like a tightwad for not getting a physical copy, but since the Ultimate-II cartridge, it's all the media I'll really need and I don't want to keep unplugging it.

For a £1.99 budget priced (glad to see it back lol) digital release, it's a bargain. Fantastic game Cool
