I'm working on a new PS for my C64c, using 5v DC and 9v AC wall warts. 5v DC is no problem, nice steady output and the computer runs fine on it.

I bought 2 120v->9v ac transformers, specifically for this project. My multimeter reads 10.7v out on one, and 11.2v out on the other. Should I be seeing voltages over 9v under no load?

Does anyone have a source of good 9vac wall warts in north america?

I'm using this one for 9V AC now (from amazon; ~$17):

US Robotics modem PSUs make a nice 9VAC supply for the C64.

For what it's worth, my stock 4pin C64 PSU measures over 10v AC. Dunno if thats completely normal or not though.

Yes, it's completely normal to have higher voltage than the specified 9VAC if there's no load.

Awesome thanks guys. Good to know that these transformers are ok. Last thing I want is to blow out the SID in this thing because of some silly error on my part.
