I've found a cheap Tape Cassette Drive but it says its for the Vic-20. I have a C=128. Will it be compatible?

I certainly think so. C64 ones are interchangeable with VIC 20 decks. The only different one I'm aware of is the C16/Plus 4 tape deck, which instead of the spade edge type connector it had a mini din plug. Even they're compatible though, you just need a mini din - edge connector adapter. I have both types. In actual fact my C64 seems to prefer the C16/Plus 4 version.

Although the thought of using a tape deck with a C128 seems so very odd. I had one connected to my C128 simply because I had the same tape deck on my VIC-20, then my C64, and so eventually my C128. But it was never used other than to "see if it worked."

I'm pretty certain the one I was using on my C128 was for a Vic20.

I've used the same tape drive on my pet 2001-8, vic 20, and 128.
No problems with any of them.

Later,
