Robocop 3, I wasn't too impressed with the game but nice title music.

Talking about Jeroen Tel's tunes, Cybernoid II is fantastic! But I don't know if it counts as a title music here as it's also the gameplay tune.

Another space shooter to mention: Armalyte! A bit different title music, but awesome IMHO. It creates the atmosphere for the game so well.

Clystron has an awesome introtune!
Also Starforce comes to mind.
Both by Thomas Detert.

No it hasn't, although i like the game, this tune is totally off sync for the game imo, there is far more immersive title music out there.

Gotta defend Elite's title music. Not really technically great or even appropriate, but I find myself humming it now and again and it gets me itchin' to trade some space narcotics.

I agree with Armalyte, matrin walker's titles are great in several games, though a lot of his stuff does have the same sound.

When I was a kid it didn't get any better than the Ghostbusters theme and you could press space in time the the chorus.

Nowadays I think Kenneth Arnold's Ultima music is some of the most atmospheric.

Some others to add to the list: mainly title screen only numbers:

Firefly - one of Fred Gray's most under-rated pieces in my opinion. Catchy melody and great lead make for a cracking effort.

Draconus - Adam Gilmore at his finest. The filter sweeps throughout the lead really give it some depth, and the second part where it speeds up the melody adds more too.

Turrican II - people often forget about this Markus Siebold tune because they're too busy pressing fire to play the great game, but when listening on a bug-free copy of the disk, there's a storming bassline which drives you on.

Rubicon - nice multispeed Jeroen Tel piece to get you in the mood, and really well composed too.

I'm amazed nobody said Delta yet!

As for the rest, I love:

Hawkeye

Ghouls'n'Ghosts

Uridium.

Archon has a very atmospheric title tune too.

I haven't checked out yet many of those you lot mentioned.

Cybernoid doesn't count, but I wanted to say I prefer the original one over the sequel's.

Rambo, including high score scroller screen. Oh yes.

Tass Times in Tonetown. Cute, bluesy, stays stuck in your head.

Heart of Africa. Like how it starts descending, almost sad, then the tempo picks up and it becomes triumphant.

EDIT: Just remembered another great one, truly inspiring, is SUPER HUEY.

Also the titletrack from Flimbo's Quest by Reyn Ouwehand (which they later used in Corruption, the discmag) was a pretty catchy tune.
Other titletracks that I loved were Tusker by Matt Gray, Turbo Charge by Odie and B-Bobs, again by Thomas Detert.
Phobia and Xenophone definately deserve to be mentioned aswell!

The sequel's soundtrack is sooooo much better!
Well now that I have your attention anyway, I always wanted to ask you if SLF stands for Synthetic Life Form?

Some great tunes mentioned so far; especially Rambo, Platoon, Thrust and Uridium. Nobody mention Parallax so far? One more title tune I enjoyed was Alleykat. Some might think it a bit cheesey but I always thought it rose to a nice climax.

I'll have to listen to them again, I love them both but as far as I remember I slightly prefer the original.

Yes, that's correct. It is of course the name of the main character in Hawkeye.

It's hard to say which one is best, since there are so many masterpieces out there. Platoon and Green Beret, as mentioned earlier, are two of them.
Super Dragon Slayer and, of course, Commando are two of the best if you ask me.
