I didn't vote because I can't decide. I like both games.

However; Arkanoid was harder, even with paddles (which I preferred) and I always hated the way that the levels in Krakout were random.

They are not random. The enemies are the only random aspect, which can mean you get stuck on certain screens...

You could never get stuck on any Krakout level. If your ball was in a loop for a longer time all the undestroyable blocks vanished. Eat that Arkanoid! Wink

Hmm, that's strange. I could have sworn that they came up randomly. Maybe the (pirated) copy that I had was modified...

I know that there are other similar games out there, but back in the days it seems like people were mostly divided into the krakout or the arkanoid-camp. I always fancied Krakout, but if both games were using a paddle or something similar, I might have gone for Arkanoid. But using a joystick playing Arkanoid was simply far too frustrating, since both the thingy you controlled as well as the ball were too small.

And while we're on the subject, are the any decent, similar games out for the ipad?

Well, we finally got that sorted, then. You can all relax and die in peace...the answer wasn't 42, it was Krakout.
