There are a few tidbits of wisdom that have been handed down over the years from our ancestors: Wash your hands after you go potty, Brush your teeth after every meal, Don't pick at a scab, Don't take any wooden nickels and DON'T BUY SOMETHING ON EBAY UNTIL YOU'VE RESEARCHED IT!

Anyway, I'm looking for a PSU for a 1764 Ram Expansion Unit (REU) 256kb. I have a C64 and have learned that I will need a 2.5a PSU to run the 1764. If anyone has one hanging around that you're willing to part with, know where I can get one or has a lead on getting one, I would be eternally grateful.

If you're able to find a C128 PSU, you could always cut away the DIN Connector and replace it with the proper one. Don't forget that the C128 Square DIN Connector is perfectly reusable and valuable.

Cheers,
Oge

I posted on that auction whether it came with the boosted PS and he never posted the question or a response. a 128 PS will work if you clip the connector and use a c4 din instead there are many pin out diagrams online. Save or sell the 128 connector btw they are a bit rare too.

Best of Luck!

EDIT: grr yeah what Oge said... lol

I have 3 dead C64 power supplies, so I've got the connect to the C64 covered. Having a heck of a time find a 128 PSU though. Guess patience is a virtue. Thanks for the help all.

Same applies to the C64 power supplies: if they are the ones bundled with breadbins then they're repairable and don't throw them away Wink

Cheers,
Oge

I posted the same question on an auction on eBay right now in regards to the power supply.

Lister mentioned that it came off a 'working' system he a had a while ago, but "due to age is selling as is" (Blah blah). He in fact did acknowledge my question via email response and updated his listing to reflect no power supply is included. He didn't post the question though.

I have a 1764 in the box with all manuals, PSU and original disks I'm debating what to do with.. I'm going to get the expander 3 from Jim and see how the REU and the Swiftlink together with the BBS. If it's not anything major I'm going to sell the REU and Expander 3 together..

I found a C128 power supply on Ebay. When it arrives I'll probably be back on the Help and Support forum with questions. Rolling Eyes
