High Voltage SID Collection: Update #56
Date: December 23, 2011

After this update, the collection should contain 41,250 SID files!

This update features (all approximates):
861 new SIDs
156 fixed/better rips
14 PlaySID/Sidplay1 specific SIDs eliminated
11 repeats/bad rips eliminated
786 SID credit fixes
88 SID model/clock infos
31 tunes from /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/ identified
12 tunes from /GAMES/ identified
51 tunes moved out of /DEMOS/ to their composers' directories
28 tunes moved out of /GAMES/ to their composers' directories

In this release we finally got rid of all PlaySID/Sidplay1 specific SIDs,
by replacing all the remaining ones with proper RSID rips. Quite a milestone.

Also grab Sidplay/w 2.6
http://csdb.dk/release/?id=103781
and SidKnown 1.03
http://csdb.dk/release/?id=103744

A superb update!.... just spent the last few hours going through, and still going Smile

The SIDPlay updates are a bonus as well, especially now being able to play the 2SID files.

Thanks to everyone involved, a great early xmas present Smile

sidplay2w.exe uses resampling (a bit more heavy on the CPU)
sidplay2w-int.exe uses interpolation (less CPU intensive)

Got it, thank you.
I think resampling sounds better (at least to me)

What an awesome goody bag of xmas pressies this year! So far I thought A Spacebar Odyssey from Offence was the best one out the huge pile but this one here definately beats them all!
Once again, thanks for an outstanding effort again, HVSC team!

Oh dear...
I'm trying to find out where I heard Liberty Lemmings from Jeroen Tel before.
It says release date 2011 but I'm sure I've heard this before. I keep thinking maybe it was released in some episode of the 8Bit Mayhem Podcasts but I can't seem to track it down.

The sid was used in 2 People Of Liberty releases

It was used in JT live gigs before, and it's in 8bitmayhem-episode8.mp3

I think that podcast is filled with unreleased JT sids, I can only identify 4 tunes.

00:41 - ?
04:00 - ?
07:03 - ?
09:28 - ?
11:38 - ?
13:20 - ?

Talking about 8Bit Mayhem, I'd really hope Scout would continue making this great podcast.

Thanks for the HVSC update!

Thanks mate for pointing out to which podcast it belongs to.
There are sure many unidentified JT compositions out there. Maybe a question for the man himself?

Aah those podcasts sure bring back a lot of good memories.
I still see myself sitting on a fourwheeler in the australian outback chasing sheep listening to those terrific 8bit Mayhem podcasts.
I agree with the gentleman above that Scout should be doing more of them!

Anyway, thanks again Ian.

Still browsing through the new update.
'Hammock Reloaded' is definately one of new my favourites now.
Crickey I never heard of this composer before he's a great new addition to G*P if you'd ask me.
I'm anxious to get to hear new stuff from him!
'Dane vs. Danko' and 'Dane vs. Zardax' are my other personal hghlights in this update.

00:41 - he's played this live - at Back in Time Live London 2007 for example:

I suspect the rest are unreleased - be nice if Jeroen got them out there!!

I had a chat with Jeroen and he confirmed all those were not YET released as sid tunes but only used for his gigs, and he's not against publishing them at some point. He has to dig his disks for them and will let me know. Cool
