Does anybody know of a good conversion program to convert CRT emulator files to BIN files so that they can be burned to an EPROM?

What ones you after? I've still got a lot of the carts I dumped here on my drive in pure format (before converting to CRT).

Vice 1.20 comes with a handy cartconv.exe (+cartconv.txt), guess what is it for? Very Happy

Mayhem, do you still have your carts in bin format? I have several crt roms and need them in bin for my 1541U. I would greatly appreciate any help!

Here is the cartconv helpfile to convert your crt to bin. I've been meaning to install Epyx Fastload on the 1541U but never have gotten around to it.

Mat, would it be possible to get a pure BIN version of Terminator 2 and Shadow of the Beast?... They are problematic working with the 1541U, and i'm wondering if the pure versions would make any difference?

Thanks for the tips. I had probs with that conversion program and have too many crts to convert. BTW, you can have Fastload on the 1541U with the newest firmware update.

Sure, I can send them along. The dumping programs work via taking each 8k or 16k bank and saving them out consecutively to the disk, 128k per side. Then I just concatenate the separate 128k files together into a 256k or 512k whole (depending on cart size). This is what Vice is after post running with the MCART program. Hopefully it's what 1541U will like too...

Thanks

MCART, from here

You will need certain flags for various types of cartridge. Or you can just download the CRT images you need from my website.

I wanted to covert Prophet64 bin to crt image to check if it will work from Ultimate, Cynthart crt works like a dream but its much smaller program.

A good while ago I found a .txt file describing in detail the specifics of .crt files and extracted .bins manually using the information.

I used ordinary WinHEX.

I wrote a crt -> bin program instead of manually editing them, to be able to use an eprom programmer for the EasyFlash-crt:s but it works for others as well:

@lukasSID You can still run stuff in a dos/command-window, just choose "Run" in the Start-menu and write cmd then press enter and you'll get a dos/command-window.
You can use cartconv.exe that comes with VICE for conversion from bin to crt as well.
Since Prophet64 seems to be a cartridge type of its own in VICE I'm guessing it's not supported in the 1541U-II.

Ah yes, I forgot CARTCONV with Vice is probably the most up-to-date program for converting to CRT.

I can only think Ultimate doesn't support the specific header that Prophet64 needs to run as CRT.
