Hy there!
This is just my MMC REPLAY experience:
Recently I got a MMC REPLAY card. I've installed the t64 plugin (T64 PlugIn v0.07), but I can't play any of my t64 games. This plugin hangs on my 2GB SD card FAT formatted. My MMC Replay manual says: last update 11.03.2008 Bios v0.54 (feb 22nd, 2008). Any suggestion?
The www.icomp.de site does mention neither MMC REPLAY updates nor the manual. So far I've managed to convert t64 to d64 in order to play games.
The d64 is ok for single file games or multi-level games using the standard kernel calls.
The sid player is poorly implemented. Could only play 1 tune out of 10 as average.
Did not try crt files and retro replay cartridge.
Greetings to all of you!

Hi !
The current version of the t64-plugin really doesnt work with the MMCReplay.
I don't know why, but I will find it out in the next few months.
I dont have a MMCReplay yet, so you have to wait a little while |

Please specify your problems with the SID player. Which tunes did you try (exact HVSC path would be best)? Which ones worked, which ones did not? What exactly happened with tunes not working? _________________

I'm having the same problem with T64 games and the T64 plugin. It freezes saying Plugin loading...
I also found out the hard way that the D64 plugins are not FAT32 friendly but luckily the bios pretty much handles anythign you want to do with D64 images. |

Greetings, have you or anyone else figured this out yet?
It sure is disappointing to find that my new MMC replay does not play T64 files. Certainly the description of the product boasts it is an amalgam of the MMC64 and the retro replay and that it encompasses all features of both, hence one would think that plugins would work... but they don't all work.
I'd hate to have to start converting all the T64 files to D64 unless is is positively certain this will not be fixed any time soon.
thanks |

As mentioned above, this is a known issue. However, thanks for confirming it once more.

First of all, this is off topic, and second, the reason for that is that hardly any third party plugin developper adapted his plugin to FAT32. So if you want a certain plugin, no matter which, to be adapter to FAT32, I suggest that you either wait, or locate who did the respective plugin, contact the developper directly and ASK NICELY. Remember: What you bought is the hardware. As for software for the hardware, keep in mind that people program software in their free time and releasing it for free.

Well, as you probably know, Dr.Creep is the creator of the T64 plugin. As he wrote above, we will have to wait a little for reasons explained above.

It has been noticed that you are disappointed, but mentioning that like three times over different threads won't make it any better, will it?

I agree this is unfortunate. Jens and Oliver should have tested existing plugins to check compatibilty issues before coming up with such an announcement. Also, Jens' politics does not include shipping devices to distributors in advance for testing so far.
But buying an MMC Replay from Vesalia and expecting support on the Protovision is not the nicest way, either.

If you checked Protovision's hardware section or did some research on this forum, you would have read about the alternative file browser by tnt, available on CSDb, originally made for MMC64.
This file browser supports executing programs from inside D64/T64 images.
For yet unknown reasons, it works on some MMC Replays and on some it doesn't. Maybe it is related to the cards used?
I checked it on my MMC Replay and successfully executed the two T64 images I tried.
Now you could test if the browser itself and executing programs from T64 images works for you, and report about it here. _________________

I can confirm that the MMC Mobile type memory cards are indeed working with the TNT Browser, which is currently the best, most reliable way to launch T64 files from the MMC Replay.
http://www.lemon64.com/forum/v...473#332473
I also found a less reliable method by using v4 of the T64 plugin with FAT16 SD cards. Download link in thread above.
Please note that the MMC/TNT Browser will NOT work on FAT16 or FAT32 SD cards... except one [so far], see update below.
UPDATE
Just a quick update, this is great news for MMCR users and I am happy to report that I was dead wrong about this...
The MMC Browser, nicknamed the TNT Browser, does work on at least ONE SD card.
a picture of the SD can be found here:
http://pics.neobit.net/images/...P00190.jpg
This was verified by a friend who runs vesalia.de
I would very much like to compile a database of working cards that will handle the MMC Browser on the MMC Replay, so far we have two, get yourself a true MMC Mobile memory card formatted to FAT16 or find the "takeMS 60x 1GB SD" card - pictured above for reference only.
update: I need to correct the above information. The picture included is NOT the actual card that worked, it was just reported to me that a 60x card by the same manufacturer is what worked for them. The photo is just for reference |
