5.385.600

Died in happy Jelleyland as i effectively reached it with only 2 lifes due to 10 lifes bug...

So how to achieve such an outrageous score? Here is my end of level screen:

I cleverly died once before going to the exit so that i had more time remaining (only about 30s remain if you complete the level in one go) and also there were still enough enemies left upping the multiplier to x5 again. I tried collecting stars only with high multiplier, too. So here is the roundup:

all stars collected
150 seconds remaining x 100
11 x 1000 skid bonus

everything multiplied by 5

I think the stars bonus alone was worth 3 million points...

Also, anyone care to explain this:

5 stars remaining, 6 stars onscreen?

Weird,I completed Jellyland with every star more than once and this never happened.

@Apollyon: I downloaded every crack of Mayhem from Dohi's site.
I'll let you know if I find a version of the game which is without bugs.

Please do. The life bug at least is extremely annoying.

Decided to give this game another chance, but I probably won't play this much. Just not my kind of platformer.

Has anyone found all the stars in level 2 (Pipeland)? I'm going through the entire level and I'm still missing 41. There a secret somewhere?

There's a huge secret area on the far right of Pipeland.Look out for false walls.

I tried a couple of cracked versions last night, but they still had that annoying bug. However I still have over 5 versions to try out...

Er, yes, I know that but something's not very right here. Last night I went through the entire level, killed all the enemies that were killable (for lack of a better world) and was left with 41 stars. Today I went through the same and was left with 66 stars. Wtf.

Another possible explanation is,there's an enemy looking like a raccoon who steals your stars if you touch it.The manual calls this scoudrel "bandit",and it's hard to avoid because he's a fast runner...

I always thought that the bandit looked more like a dinosaur. Or even - Surprised - Mayhem's evil twin, wearing a mask to hide his identity... Fear

You know, I always wondered why this enemy was around when he doesn't seem to do you any harm. Thanks for that. Laughing

Made it to happy Cherryland.

Duh, I'm still missing 40 stars in Pipeland. Pissed

I'll check my old Commodore Formats, they had an extensive guide in the tips section.

Small improvement from 85,000 to 208,050 pts. Screenshot updated above in post #2 at start of thread.

I completed sad in jellyland and then happy (with 021 stars to collect remaining - is that right? I fell in the tiny coloring stream on the right side of the map).
Then it said it was loading Jellyland again collecting star dust? Weird. See the scrshot? Anyway died immediately so score stands (not that it will make a huge difference yet! Ha! Ha!)

What version are you guys using? I got this copy from c64.com and seems fine until now. Only thing I can think of is that I do save snapshot it so it holds my highscore at the main title screen. That means the .d64 location is snapped too.

Anyways, let me know what version is best and I'll go along with it - Maybe the "remember" version...
This scrshot is what the next world looked liked after completing happy jellyland - It looks like happy jellyland but at night -even the giant rats are in it - but 1 bounce kills them instead of two. That ain't right?

This version from Dohi's site seems to work fine so far and it does not have the annoying 10 life bug, so get it!

5.708.5500

Made it to happy state of Spotland (3rd level) and things get pretty hairy there...[/url]

It certainly isn't right. Better use some other version.

I had something like that when restarting after a game over. I might try Apollyon's link tomorrow as none of the ones I've tried have been perfect.

According to this thread this is a bug and you cannot find all stars in levels 2, 3 and 4.

Edit: after reading it a second time it seems i misunderstood it. However, i would like to know where those 40 stars are, too.
