I initally asked this along with the favorite winter games event post but thought I'd talk about it here so that people had an idea of what we could do in terms of rules and game play.

I was thinking the rules would be basically the same as they were for the 2004 winter olympic compo. Except we would only be using winter games unless there is another you guys are interested in.

-Since there are 7 events we could have 2 days devoted to each one and run the compo for 2 weeks.

-Each event would be played individually by selecting "complete in one event" from the winter games menu.

-We could use the standard CET time zone for ending events.

-The highest score or point total for each individual event would receive a gold medal and get 5 points. Second highest a silver for 3 points and third highest a bronze medal for 1 point.

-At the end of the compo the player with the most medal points would win the winter game competition.

-You would have to play all attempts or complete each event for your score to be considered. (i.e. You would have to do all three attempts for the bobsled, all three for the ski jump and hot dog etc...) Then take a screenshot and post it for consideration.

-You can play any or all the events as long as you play them within the days specified.

So what do you guys think of all this? Anyone keen to hit the slopes? Any suggestions for the above?

Interested yes, of course, great idea.

But I don't have the time to compete, my son is consuming everything of my spare time in the evening.... Wink

Yes, I'm interested. I don't remember if the game was good (I haven't played in hundred of years), but I want to try it other time, so with a compo could be interesting Wink

Of course! When do we start? Twisted Evil Either Winter Games or The Games Winter Edition (not both, that would be too many events I guess). My favourite winter event on the C64 is the slalom event in World Games.

Sure can. I don't see why not.

I have to take care of some stuff for work. But I'll have more time beginning thursday. So I guess we could start around the 5th. We'll use just winter games. Also we could extend each event to take place over 3 days this way people would have more time to participate if they choose too. I'll keep you guys posted.

Give Dany a bell, I'm sure he'd be interested in setting something up...

How about Winter Olympiad 1988 by Tynesoft? That's one of my all time fave winter sports games on the C64.

Hey gang I'm in the midst of setting up the compo. Should be up shortly under a different topic in this category.
EDIT: We'll be using Winter games and 2 events from Winter Olympiad (downhill and slalom) because of time constraints. (sorry to everyone who wanted to include something else.)

@qazi: I didn't get a chance to give Dany a buzz, but I'll let him know about the compo though.
