You forgot about the download link. Is there a Remember version? I am using the Onslaught Antique version and i am not sure if it displays the score after game over (but this might be because i died on the third screen or something already due to being so tired last night).

Yeah I'm hunting around for a version right now. There is no Remember version; Gamebase links to the Onslaught Antiques one you're using. The title sequence of the game displays a high score table, so don't worry about your score vanishing after your game ends. Observe, it displays my impressive 6 screen or so score:

You beat me to the first score! Here is mine, about two thirds into the 1st level:

It is nice that you cannot score whore in this game. If you lose a life none of the stuff you picked up so far and got points for will reappear.
Also, if you played HERO before be careful! I always have that urge to place a bomb, run away and then turn quickly towards it in order not to lose any time!

I got 4,190 but have no screenshot to prove.

I thought that the highscore mode would save my score, so I turned the emu off and turned it on again only to find a buggy scorecard. I don't know if is only me, but just to be on the safe side make a screenshot before switching the emulator or computer off.

Here's my first score. Level 1 is quite easy to learn, but I think that level 2 (the ice planet) is a lot harder - as it should be Smile

14590

Well despite voicing my hatred of the trial and error nature of the Rick Dangerous games, TDP convinced me to have a go. After all, I'd be breaking tradition if I wasn't at the foot of the score list...

Completed first level and got rather far in the second. I got even further in the try before but with less points. Level 1 i can complete rather easily but memory fails me on the second Smile
So here is my latest score: 17.110

@Aliens: sure post those maps, it will be easier to explain how to get past certain points.

I can't get the game to work in either CCS64 (v2.0) or VICE (1.14). Confused

In CCS64 it loads up I get the title screen and can choose a level but no matter what level I choose it freezes after choosing the level. (I've waited 4 minutes and I doubt this game takes that long to load a level does it?)

In VICE the game freezes after the antiques intro screen.

Any ideas?

Have you downloaded the "Onslaught Antiques" version? It works fine in CCS64 2.0.

About the maps:

http://www.deconstruction.f9.c...ckmaps.htm

Here you have the complete Rick Dangerous 2 maps. Note that these are the 16 bit version maps (16 bit levels are longer than 8 bit levels). The end of the level for the C64 version is marked by a grey star.

And exploring the links of this page, you could find a page with videos of all RD2 levels (videos of someone playing and finishing the levels). I won't use them, so don't use it Razz but if you are very interested (and you don't find them), tell me Wink

Just turn on truedrive emulation. Then it will load properly.

This one should keep you busy for a while:

28,750

Squished on level 4 as a result of not nearly enough practice. It's all a case of learny learny, tho, and it's nice that the game lets you start on different levels.

I reckon level 3 is easier than level 2, provided you go the right way...

What I don't like is how far back you get sprung every time you die. Makes me really appreciate H.E.R.O., which some of the time even removed the obstacle you died on so you could get on with your game.

Highest number of completely invisible deathtraps so far encountered on one screen: 3

Yeah, FOUR of the last six games we've voted have been scrolly platform games... four and a half if you count Trailblazer!

Time for a little variety next month, perhaps?

OK, I give up.... how do you get off the damn rocket cycle on level 4? I see a switch at the top left of the screen but I can't seem to press it.
