I think most people that like one Rick Dangerous game like the other one as well. I can't really remember the differences, although I think the sequel has fewer death traps.

It's a problem that RD players vote differently, that way we'll never play any of them.
I would like to vote for the one with most points without specifying which one, but I guess I have to choose.

1. Rick Dangerous II
2. Rick Dangerous I
3. Kick Start II
4. IO
5. Tilt

Again with the Nebulus. Have we not covered this before?

http://www.lemon64.com/forum/v...p;start=50

It's much, much easier than H.E.R.O., and a single mistake isn't fatal. Playing it unmodified will result in the top players having to throw themselves off the top of level 5 thirty or so times to maximise their score; not an interesting thing to do.

Modifying the game, if it was something that our resident hacker tnt would be prepared to do, would be a big job.

Nebulus is great to sit, play, complete, appreciate, and put away. But can't we just play something that's actually SUITED to competition play?

No way! It must be played. After all it is an alltime classic ownz0r favourite i have played it for 12446457567 hours when i was a kid game. Just like Arkanoid, TrailblaizzzZZZZzzer and HERO. Still coming up in the next season: Wizball, Turrican and of course the allmighty Pooyan!

Putting sarcasm at side: TNT (or someone else?) has made a version where you start with just one (yes one!) life and you do not get any bonus lifes. It will be fantastic to play this. Rolling Eyes

Here are my votes for the next round:

1 NEBULUS (we can play the TNT compo edition!)
2 Wizball
3 Split Personalities
4 Brainstorm
5 Hard n Heavy

I totally agree. which is why we should play TNT's compo version.

It was hardly a big job when he edited it a couple months back. No extra lives, just the three you start with (vastly minimising point whoring) and even with a special screen so you tell it was the compo edition:

I've got a copy of the compo edition on my HD. All it needs is a home to download from.

What could be more suited? Nebulus is a fast paced, fun game, and with the compo version, is no lonbger infinite.

I think we should play the three lives version as I mentioned above. Give the people who are not so hot at the game a chance at least.[/img]

Great, just great guys, there was more than one reason not to play nebulus. So we have a version with no extra lives? Wonderful, it still doesn't change the fact that it's too easy for competition and it will come down to dying at the top of the tallest tower. But you can't tell some people.

White Demon wrote:

So what? it's easy and the score is only going to differ on the bonus stages. Simply put, it's not a compo game and no amount of lives counter altering (and thank you TNT for that, I don't in any way disrespect your work), is going to change the fact that it will suck as a compo game.

That said,

1. Wonderboy (because anything is better than Nebulus as a compo game)
2. Beamrider
3. Rick D II
4. Spindizzy
5. Hard 'n' Heavy

I pray to a greater power not to play Nebulus, because it would be a real shame if the last round in the competition, the round that decides who gets what place, will be esssentially forfeit because everyone will have the same score.
