Hi,
I'm looking to get a printer for my C128. I want to be able to print nice looking newsletters, and other desktop publishing type projects. I'd like to know of a printer that is Commodore compatible and would be useable by most C64/128 apps. Can anyone recommend a really good printer that can be used to achieve the above types of printouts?

Thanks
John

My best recommendation would be PostScript II-ready printers, or a good color inkjet and access to a PostScript device such as GhostScript. With this kind of printing, you can use Commodore GEOS (geoWrite/geoPublish/PostPrint) to do high-quality publishing.

For further proof of leading-edge Commodore GEOS printing, check out my Commodore Currents issues on the Internet. They are in a PDF form and can be downloaded at:

For more information about GEOS printing, check out:

Lastly, digest this latest news item about the Spring Commodore EXPO 2004:

http://www.edmc.net/cue/lucky2004.html

If you can attend and see a first-hand demonstration of Commodore GEOS printing at its finest, please do attend!

Enjoy.

After the MPS803 I had a Star LC24-10 printer connected to my C64. Just mentioning it incase you want to go retro.
